Privacy Policy for The Inspired Solo
In this document, the phrases “The Inspired Solo” and “Inspired Consulting” refer respectively to this website and the sole proprietorship I have established for offering blogging, copywriting, and copy editing services to solo and small firm lawyers. The words “I” and “me” and the like refer to Sheryl Sisk Schelin, the owner of the website and the SP, and the person who renders those services to clients. “User” refers to any individual who accesses these pages and/or fills out a contact form or email with personally identifiable information.
Individually Identifiable Information
The Inspired Solo & Inspired Blogging recognize that the growth of online services, including Internet services, has created many privacy concerns, particularly for consumers.These concerns focus on protecting “individually identifiable” information that an individual or customer reasonably expects to be kept private. As the term suggests, individually identifiable information is information that can be associated with a specific individual or entity, such as name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and/or information about online activities directly linked to them.
It is common practice and often a necessity for companies, governments or other organizations to collect individually identifiable information in order to conduct business and offer services. For example, I collect names, addresses, telephone numbers, and other contact information through this site in order to facilitate the retention of my services by potential clients who wish to hire me, and in order to facilitate communicating with prospects interested in receiving more information about my services.
The Inspired Solo & Inspired Consulting’s Online Privacy Policy: Informed Choice
I have developed the following online privacy policy on behalf of The Inspired Solo & Inspired Conslting to protect individually identifiable information. This policy covers The Inspired Solo & Inspired Consulting and its subsidiaries and applies to all individually identifiable information that I obtain when a user or potential client submits a contact form with personally identifiable information contained therein.
The Inspired Solo & Inspired Consulting protect online individually identifiable information as follows:
Disclosure. The Inspired Solo & Inspired Consulting will not sell, trade or disclose to third parties any individually identifiable information derived from these pages without the consent of the user (except as required by subpoena, search warrant or other legal process or in the case of imminent physical harm to the user or others). When The Inspired Solo & Inspired Consulting use other agents, contractors or companies to perform services on its behalf, The Inspired Solo & Inspired Consulting will ensure that the company protects your individually identifiable information consistent with this policy. The Inspired Solo & Inspired Consulting may use your individually identifiable information to market new services to you that we think will be of interest to you, but we will not disclose your individually identifiable information to third parties who want to market products to you. You may opt out of receiving such messages by clicking here and sending the email with the prepopulated subject line “REMOVE ME.”
User Choice. A user may choose not to receive direct marketing communications from The Inspired Solo & Inspired Consulting. Upon such choice, I (a) will not contact that user directly with marketing messages about The Inspired Solo & Inspired Consulting services, and (b) will not use individually identifiable information obtained from that user’s registration or contact information to contact that user with marketing messages about any The Inspired Solo & Inspired Consulting products or services. A user may choose not to receive such messages by e-mail, by mail or by telephone.

Individually identifiable information that a visitor volunteers at The Inspired Solo & Inspired Consulting web sites to order or request my services will be protected just as if the information had been provided under more traditional ways of ordering that service.
Collection of usage data. The Inspired Solo & Inspired Consulting servers automatically gather information about which sites users visit on the Internet and which pages are visited within The Inspired Solo & Inspired Consulting web site. The company does not use that information except in the aggregate.
E-mail Contents. The company will not read or disclose to third parties private e-mail communications that are transmitted using The Inspired Solo & Inspired Consulting services except as required to operate the service or as otherwise authorized by law, or expressly permitted by the sender.
Improper Conduct. I may use individually identifiable information to investigate and help prevent potentially unlawful activity or activity that threatens this site.

Additional Privacy Protections for Children Using the Internet
The Inspired Solo & Inspired Consulting join the industry in recognizing that children, including young teens, may not be in a position to make informed choices about personal information requested online.
Accordingly, The Inspired Solo & Inspired Consulting do not target children or teenagers (younger than 18) for collection of information online. This site does not solicit or collect individually identifiable information targeted at children and teenagers under 18 and does not allow anyone else to do so on my behalf or on behalf of this company. The Inspired Solo & Inspired Consulting encourage parents to take an active role to protect the privacy and security of their children and to prevent the inappropriate use of information about their children. I support the development of technologies that help parents control the collection and use of personal information from children who use online services in their households.
Comments Policy
It is the policy of The Inspired Solo to accept only non-commercial, non-spam comments that do not contain obscene, defamatory, or improper comments. “Improper” within the context of this policy means the following:
- Designed to intimidate or harass another
- Containing discriminatory or prejudiced content against another race, religion, national origin, language, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation or socioeconomic status
- Exhortations or “puffery” commonly employed to advance a particular product, company, or commercial service (applied to comments; posts in which I disclose new products of services of Inspired Consulting are not impacted by this definition)
- Language which, in the discretion of the site owner (that’s me), serves no useful purpose and does not add to the conversation.
Notwithstanding the last bulleted item above (’no useful purpose’), it is not the policy of this site or its owner (again, me) to edit, disapprove, or pull comments merely because I do not agree with them, or because they express unpopular opinions, unless the comment also meets one of the criteria listed above.
