A Bit of History
Back in the day, Sheryl launched The Inspired Solo as a free hosted blog at WordPress.com. It was designed to be a place to gather her thoughts and share her successes and disasters as a solo attorney. After a few months, with readership growing, Sheryl decided to expand the site and brought it to this place.
She used a free template for WordPress at first, but then won a free blog makeover from Cory Miller. That design, named after the site itself, got a lot of praise, and readership continued to expand.
TIS was nominated as one of the ABA’s first Blawg100 list.
Then, TIS took a break. More specifically, Sheryl took an extended break for the purpose of taking a step back and figuring out where the future of TIS would lie. After some helpful polls and a lot of brainstorming, she relaunched TIS with a brand new magazine-style layout and an expanded focus.
So … Who Is The Inspired Solo For, Again?
While TIS maintains its primary focus on solo attorneys, we’re expanding that focus to include service professionals of all stripes. Any professional service provider — accountants, doctors, financial advisers, therapists, real estate brokers, consultants of all flavors — can use the information here to create and grow a private solo practice.
