Day 8 Lecture: Expand Your Blog Community

Rather than repeat myself and subject readers to a long rehash, I’m going to simply direct you to this post, “Find Your Tribe: Four Steps to Finding Your Community as a Blogger.”

Task: Identify At Least Ten Potential Tribemates For Your Blog

Today’s task is to look for and identify at least ten potential community members, taking into consideration the principles and suggestions in the post linked to above. Pay special attention to those you think could serve as good referral sources for your business, and those to whom you could refer your clients for additional services that you don’t provide.

Explore their websites and blogs. Follow them on Twitter. Enter them into your contacts management application. Get to know them a little bit via Google. Jot down some notes on each in a master file (which could be as simple as a plain text document). Think about how they can help you, and how you can help them. And make sure you subscribe to their feeds in your feedreader! We’ll build more on this task next week, and those feeds will become important.
